Mr.Samuel Kojo Darko was born at Agona Nyakrom into the Aboso Asona family in 1940 to Opanin Kwame Abban and Maame Esi Oduma both of blessed memory. He had his basic education at Agona Nyakrom urban and then to the Methodist school.

RELIGIOUS LIFE:

He joined The Church of Pentecost Bethel Assembly in 2012 and later to the Shalom Assembly New York district in 2023 all the Ashaiman Area.

MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE:

When Mr. Samuel Kojo Darko was of age to marry, he met a lady called Mary Turkson and later became husband and wife. They were blessed with 9 children, 6 males and 3 females. Unfortunately they lost the eldest child due to ill-health.

SOCIAL LIFE AND WORK:

He worked at Ghana Textiles Manufacturing Company (GTMC), then the Tema Fishing Harbour and later as an access control official at a private security Firm.

ILL-HEALTH AND DEMISE:

Mr. Darko was very dedicated to a healthy and cheerful lifestyle, yet to our dismay, in 2023 his health began to decline. During these challenging times in his life, he held steadfast the belief that it would be well with his soul and on the early hours of Monday, May 26, 2025 he departed this world into eternal rest.

Mr. Samuel Kojo Darko, Azay! Aloss! Seaman as people far and near affectionately called him. You lived your life in the fear of God your creator. Thank you for sharing unconditional love with all who came around you. You will be dearly missed by your family, friends and loved ones. We know death is a necessary end for every living being. We shall meet again one day to part no more.

Rest well in the bosom of your maker.

In simple words, I have truly lost a great husband in this life time. Kojo Darko as I affectionately call him, made me realize how deep his love was, so much that sometimes I battled within myself to understand. How can I ever repay his gentle heart of love, my beloved husband. Now that he is has left me, the emptiness that I feel can never be filled.

God bless you for always being there for our children especially during my absence.

TRIBUTE BY CHILDREN TO THE LATE MR. SAMUEL KOJO DARKO

Sep 25, 2025 | By: Nathaniel Owulaku Tetteh

If you live, we live for the Lord and if we die, we die for the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. - Romans 14:8.

Dada, as we affectionately call you, in deed it feels impossible to stand here today as a family without you by our side. The world feels a little dimmer, our path less clear, without your comforting presence and wise counsel to guide us.

Dada, was more than just our father: He were our anchor, our greatest supporter and the person who knew what was best for us. He taught us not just to be strong but to be good people and approach life as independent minded individuals.

We are grateful for the sacrifices you made just to ensure that we were always safe.

You were truly an epitome of a vivid description of a true father and losing you has been one of the most difficult things we have experienced. We know the pain of your absence will forever be with us, but we also know that that, the lessons and love instilled in us will never fade.

Dada, today your children Christian, Jackson, Cynthia, Christopher, Francis, Olivia, Nicholas and Emmanuel stand before your lifeless body to say a big thank you. We will strive to make you proud, to carry forward the values you taught us and to find a fraction of happiness into our lives again. We love you more than words can say. You are and will always be our hero and our guiding light.

Dada, Fare thee well!

Dada, Nan te yie!!

May Your Soul Rest In Peace!!!

TRIBUTE BY GRANDCHILDREN TO THE LATE MR. SAMUEL KOJO DARKO

Sep 25, 2025 | By: Nathaniel Owulaku Tetteh

"The righteous perish, and no one takes it to the heart; devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death" - Isaiah 57:1-2

It is with heavy heart that we your grandchildren stand here today to bid farewell to our beloved grandpa. Though ill-health took some of the best times we would have had together, we are however grateful that we had the opportunity to enjoy your love with which you raised our parents. Even though we are in pain and sorrow, we still celebrate a life well- lived.

We are forever humbled that you raised gallant children who became loving parents to us, demonstrating your true and unconditional love because, that was what you gave to them. Grandpa, you always said to us, "Don't forget to read and always go to church".

Thank you very much Grandpa for your inspiring words and love. May the good Lord give your loving soul eternal rest in his bosom. Rest In perfectPeace, Grandpa.

Ye da wo ase, ye da wo ase!

Da yieee!!

Amen.

TRIBUTE BY IN-LAWS TO THE LATE MR. KOJO DARKO SAMUEL

Sep 25, 2025 | By: Nathaniel Owulaku Tetteh

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. -2 Corinthians 5:1.

We pay our tribute today as in-laws with very heavy and broken hearts to bid you farewell. Dearest Father-in-law, coming to know you as our father in-law was the most humbling moments of our lives. You were always illuminated with great affection towards us, demonstrating to us how much you loved your children to whom we have become spouses.

Our hearts are burdened with so much grief and pain because our excitement of enjoying and having more of you, have been cut short. Your caring and welcoming nature would be engraved in our hearts forever, because you really made us feel belonged to the family.

Though are gone from us, we will take solace in the fact that, you loved us unconditionally and your grandchildren were priced wealth to you.

Thank you so much Mr. S.K Darko, our father in-law.

May the Almighty God grant your beautiful and gentle soul perfect rest.

Rest well in His bosom till we meet again, cherished father-in-law.

TRIBUTE BY THE CHURCH OF PENTECOST, NEW YORK DISTRICT, SHALOM ASSEMBLY TO THE LATE MR SAMUEL KOJO DARKO

Sep 25, 2025 | By: Nathaniel Owulaku Tetteh

I heard a voice from heaven saying: write these: Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord from now on "Yes says the Spirit, they will rest from their labour for their deeds will follow them - Revelation 14:13.

The Late Mr. Samuel Kojo Darko became a member of the Church of Pentecost, New York District, Shalom Assembly on the 7th of April,2023 together with his spouse.

He joined the Assembly at an advanced age of 83 years so both Officers and Members were addressing him as our Father.

He was highly knowledgeable, respectful, disciplined and above all God fearing.

He was faithful to his calling as he used to walk quite a distance from his residence to the Church every Sunday.

At that age he would not hesitate to once a while attend evening prayers.

He was an active PEMEM member who shared his rich life experience as a seaman with the members.

He featured prominently during Church discussions and the congregation learned a lot from his pot of wisdom.

He was the first to request for the Church Calendar at the beginning of each new year

During the darkest moment of his life, the entire Presbytery prayed fervently and administered Communion to him at his residence

Finally, and to our outmost surprise an unfavorable news broke that Mr Darko had kicked the bucket at Trinity Hospital at Ashaiman Lebanon.

Mr. Darko's death has caused a vacuum in Shalom Assembly with respect to his age at 85.

FARE THEE WELL!

MAY YOUR SOUL REST IN PEACE!!
