Edward Omane Boamah was a distinguished Ghanaian leader whose life journey spanned the fields of medicine, politics, and public service, leaving an enduring legacy in the nation’s history. Born and raised in Ghana, Omane Boamah initially pursued a career in medicine, dedicating himself to healing and improving the lives of many. His compassionate nature and commitment to service would later propel him into the realm of national politics.


Transitioning from medicine to public administration, Omane Boamah served Ghana with distinction in various key government roles. Among his notable appointments was Deputy Minister for Information, where he was instrumental in shaping communication policies, fostering national dialogue, and enhancing Ghana’s image both at home and abroad. His leadership was marked by integrity, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to transparency and public engagement.


Throughout his career, Edward Omane Boamah was celebrated as a mentor, advocate, and dedicated servant of the Ghanaian people. His ability to bridge the worlds of healthcare and governance showcased a versatile leadership style rooted in empathy and commitment.


Boamah lost his life in a military helicopter crash en route to an anti-galamsey event in Obuasi.


Though he has passed on, the impact of Edward Omane Boamah’s work continues to inspire many. His legacy as a leader and patriot remains a beacon of exceptional service and dedication to Ghana's progress.
