Birth and Family Background

Mrs. Helen Abena Fiagbe Kuma Segbawu was born in 1990 in Akoefe Achati, Ho, Volta Region, alongside her twin sister. She was born to Mr. Godwin Kwabena Fiagbe and Madam Florence Adzei.

Early Education & Secondary Education (1996 – 2008)

She began her basic education at Adenta Holy Rosary School in 1996 and successfully completed her Junior High School education in 2005.

She proceeded to Vakpo Secondary Technical School, where she studied Business Management and completed her secondary education in 2008.

Early Work and Skill Development (2008 – Early 2010s)

After her secondary education, she moved to Pokuase to stay with her elder sister, where she worked caring for children for a period of two years, reflecting her deep love and passion for children. With encouragement from her mother, she furthered her education by pursuing a six-month secretarial course. She later stayed with her uncle, Torde Mensah, where she was entrusted with managing his plumbing shop, a responsibility she handled with excellence.

Spiritual Life and Ministry

Mrs. Segbawu was a devoted Christian who had a deep passion for the work of God. She actively served in church, especially in the music ministry, where her singing talent became a source of inspiration and blessing to many. Her love for God was evident in her dedication and service.

Marriage and Family Life

Through her service in the house of God, she met her husband in 2014. In early 2015, she got married at the Assemblies of God Church. Their union was blessed with three children: Gladys Yayra Segbawu, Franklin Kojo Jnr. Xorse Segbawu, and Stephen Yaw Jnr. Dzidula Segbawu, whom she loved and cherished deeply.

Teaching Career and Achievements

Mrs. Segbawu began her teaching career at Rhino Gold International School in Adenta, where she handled early childhood classes including KG1, KG2, and Basic 1. Due to her dedication and passion, she was promoted to teach Basic 2 and was recognized by the PTA as the Best Preschool Teacher.


She later enrolled at Brain Bridge Montessori Training Center, where she obtained a diploma in Early Childhood Education, driven by her passion for nurturing children and her dream of establishing her own school.


She continued her teaching career at Powerline International School, where she taught Basic 3 and was awarded Best Teacher of the Month.


Later, she joined Friends of Little Ones International School in Madina, where she taught Basic 5 and became highly admired and loved by her students for her exceptional teaching methods.

Illness and Passing

After some years of dedicated service, she fell ill and was hospitalized. Though she was discharged and cared for by her mother and siblings, her condition worsened. In early February 2026, she was rushed back to the hospital. Sadly, she passed away on 15th February 2026 at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.


Mrs. Helen Fiagbe Segbawu was a virtuous woman, a loving wife, a devoted mother, a caring daughter, a supportive sister, and a true friend to many. She was known for her kindness, strength, humility, and her ever-present beautiful smile. Her life touched many, and her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
