Biography of the late Ekow Blankson

Ekow Blankson (March 16, 1972 – October 3, 2022) was a celebrated Ghanaian actor, businessman, and media professional known for his versatile roles in numerous Ghanaian films and television series. Born in Accra, he began his acting career at the age of 16 while studying Theatre Arts at the University of Ghana, Legon, where he later earned both a Diploma and a Master’s degree in Fine Arts. He also obtained a marketing certificate from Heineken Global Commerce University in Amsterdam.
Throughout his career, Ekow featured in notable films such as Checkmate, Borga, Frozen Emotion, Savannah, and The Storm, earning nominations for awards including Best Adult Male Role at the GH Student's Movie Awards. Beyond acting, he held significant leadership roles in the media industry, serving as Managing Director of TV Africa, Director of Brands and Corporate Communications at Media General Ghana Limited, and General Manager of Luv FM and Nhyira FM under the Multimedia Group. At the time of his passing, he was the Commercial Manager at GhanaWeb.
Ekow Blankson was married to Justine Naadu, with whom he had children. He passed away on October 3, 2022, in Tema, Ghana, after a short illness, leaving behind a legacy as one of Ghana’s respected actors and media professionals.
