Professor Aheto, thank you for believing in and supporting me, my dad, mom, and older brother, Morgan Jr. Thank you for investing your time and money in us and in countless other young people. Your lessons reached far beyond the classroom.

When I first came to New York in the 1970s, God blessed me by bringing Professor John Aheto into my life. From the day we met, he became my big brother. Though we were not related by blood, he welcomed me as family. He encouraged me throughout my writing journey and stood beside me as I published and launched my five books. Whenever I was in need, he was there. When I struggled to pay my rent, he helped me. When my wife-Sophie and I needed money for Junior and Richard's school fees, he never said no. He always gave willingly, quietly, and with a loving heart. After so many years apart, one of my biggest blessings was seeing him again last year. I thank God that we had one more opportunity to embrace each other before he went home to be with the Lord. His friendship was one of God's greatest gifts to me and my family. Rest in peace, my dear big brother. We will miss you

You once said there is more sleep when one dies when I sometimes said you need to rest. You worked hard and burnt the midnight candle so you could make your contribution and impact. With a smile, you said thank you or Akpe whenever I agreed with you. You were committed, dedicated, and upheld hard work and integrity. You made an impact. You were very detailed. In write-ups, you'll cross the t's, dot the i's, insert the punctuations whenever you reviewed a document. Your legacy and the virtues you imprinted in our lives we'll hold dear and keep forever in our hearts. Your life was a blessing, and your memory, a treasure. You served your generation well. May your sleep be sweet daddy. Rest peacefully, my dear Prof.
