Remembering Vincent E. McCauley Jr.: A Celebrated Ghanaian Actor and Educator

Vincent E. McCauley Jr., a renowned Ghanaian actor and respected educator, passed away on January 15, 2024, at the age of 48. He died in South Africa following surgery for a brain tumor, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire many.

He rose to prominence through his iconic role as “Max” in the hit television series Things We Do For Love, a performance that endeared him to viewers across Ghana and made him a household name. 

His talent extended to numerous other productions, including YOLO (You Only Live Once), Games People Play, Fortune Island, Office Palava, Living With Trisha: House of Secrets, and The Idiot and I, where he consistently demonstrated his versatility and depth as an actor.

Outside of acting, Vincent was equally passionate about education. He served as a director at Soul Clinic International School in Cantonments, Accra, where he was deeply involved in the administration and formed strong bonds with both staff and students. His work in education reflected his belief in nurturing future generations and creating a positive impact beyond the screen.

In 2017, Vincent married his wife, with whom he shared a loving and supportive relationship. Together, they co-founded The Trinity Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals facing acceptance-related challenges, further emphasizing his compassion and commitment to service.

His death was widely mourned by family, colleagues, and fans alike. A memorial service held on February 14, 2024, at Soul Clinic International School brought together prominent figures from the Ghanaian entertainment industry. Former co-stars from Things We Do For Love, including Adjetey Anang, Jackie Appiah, and Majid Michel, attended the event to honor his memory and celebrate his life.

Vincent McCauley is fondly remembered as a gifted actor, a devoted educator, and a compassionate individual whose contributions to both the arts and education in Ghana have left an enduring mark.
