Birth and Early Family Life

Deaconess Vida Collins was born in Akyem Osenase, in the Eastern Region of Ghana. She was the third of eight siblings to Opanyin James Kwaku Frimpong and Obaapanyin Sarah Afia Krah. She grew up in a loving, close-knit family that instilled in her the values of faith and hard work.

Beginning of Formal Education

At just four years old, Vida was enrolled at Osenase Presbyterian Primary School, marking the beginning of her educational journey. She quickly became known for her discipline, curiosity, and determination, consistently excelling in her studies.

After completing her primary education, Vida continued to Adu Parko Middle School at Osenase, where she finished her middle school education. Her academic success reflected her dedication and love for learning.

Transition to City Life and Early Career

Following her middle school graduation, Vida relocated to Accra to live with her father at ElWak. Here, she adapted to the vibrant city environment and began working as a trader and businesswoman. Her entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic quickly earned her respect within the community.

During her early years in Accra, Vida met her husband, WOII Collins Dzam of blessed memory and their union was blessed with 10 children. Their marriage was characterised by mutual respect, love, and a shared commitment to faith, providing a strong foundation for their family life.

Vida’s faith blossomed as she became deeply involved in her local Apostolic church. She took on roles such as organising women’s fellowship meetings and supporting outreach programs, becoming a pillar of support and encouragement to many.
